  • Arya Samaj was and is a movement for social reform, education and nationalism.
  • 85 percent of India’s freedom fighters were born by Arya Samaj.
  • Arya Samaj is the main architect of the Swadeshi movement.
  • Arya Samaj Launched the Shuddhi movement by inspiring the people who had converted to become Hindus again.
  • About 60 thousand Malkane Rajputs and those Hindus who had been forcibly converted to Islam at the time of partition of India in the days of Mappila rebellion (1923) or (1947), Arya Samaj gave them the opportunity to return to Hinduism.
  • Swami Dayanand wrote Satyarth Prakash Book and many Veda bhashyas in Hindi language.
  • An Englishman had even described “Satyarth Prakash” as a book hollowing out the roots of the British.
  • In 1886, Lala Hansraj, a follower of Swami Dayanand, founded the Dayanand Anglo-Vedic College in Lahore.
  • In 1901, Swami Shraddhanand established a Gurukul school in Kangri.
  • Today, the use of the word ‘Namaste’ in foreign countries and in the world of yoga is very common. It was not in vogue at one time – even Hindus did not do this. Aryasamajis popularized this method of greeting each other. It has now become the identity of Indians.
